2021 Season & COVID-19
Special Note Regarding the 2021 Fishing Season With Respects to our US and International Guests
Just a short update on what is happening up here in Winter Harbour at the moment, plus a special update with regards to our US / International guests and the current Covid19 situation.
We are up and running this summer, although at a reduced capacity.
With what has happened in the world this last year, we were hoping that things would of settled down and we would be able to get back to normal for the 2021 season, but even with the current global vaccine roll out, we can’t see the Canadian borders opening up to US or International travel in the next few months. Our Provincial Health Office has hinted (has not said definitively) that international travel most likely won’t resume until the late summer or early fall of 2021. This will be dependant on how the vaccinations are unfolding in our country and those that would like to travel to Canada.
For all the guests who had booked dates for the 2020 summer season but were unable to make it due to the Covid19 situation – and who also pushed the dates and deposits for 2021, we will set you up on the calendar for the 2021 season as planned. If the borders do not up in time for you to come fishing with us this year, you will have the option to push deposits/dates for the 2022 season or get a full refund – we will leave the decision in your hands.
For any new US or International guests, we will not be taking any new reservations or deposits at this time. We feel that due to the uncertainty of whether or not the borders will be open up in time for the 2021 summer season, it will be ethically wrong for us to accept bookings/deposits until there is a definite time-line of international travel.
For all of our of guests who will be fishing with us this summer, we are still following all COVID-19 protocols as per the Provincial Health Office, while at the lodge or out on one of our charters.
If the borders continue to stay closed for the 2021 season, we will definitely miss all of our US and International guests again. Many of you have been with us every year for the last couple of decades – we truly look forward to having you up here every summer. We hope to see everyone who could not make it in the 2020 season, either in the summer of 2021 (hopefully) or summer of 2022.

A first class operation…We have been coming up there will be 7th year, this year, and have never been disapointed with the huge load of fish we bring home or the great food your cooks provide…Your guides work their tale off and put us on the fish every year…so we feel obliged to keep coming back, year after year after year…
WOW!! Whales, dolphins, bears & eagles (saw it all!) and the fishing just happened to be great as well. Wonderful food, friendly staff & very professional guide who went above and beyond. Purple haze forever, we WILL be back!! Thanks again.
I just wanted to say thank you again. Its now been over a month since our visit and we still keep talking about it. I’ve never had an experience like the one we had at your resort. It, without a doubt, was unforgettable. The food, the guides, the housekeeping staff, all equaled an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait till next year. I am a natural critic. LOVE the place, the people, the guides, the dock helpers, the fishing, the food, the support people. Our 3 person group took home about 600 pounds of halibut, ling cod, salmon and yellow eyes fillets on a three day fishing trip.
Came home exhausted and so, so happy.
Good people, good place, good fishing. Never have experienced anything like it. Not a cheap deal but if I can put it together, I will do this until I cannot, or die. That good!
ALWAYS, always have an amazing fishing adventure at this resort! I have NEVER been disappointed! The fishing is amazing, the guides work hard to see that the guests catch as many fish as possible and make it a fun and pleasurable experience. The accommodations are comfortable, clean and well attended. The gourmet meals become part of the lasting memories. Management and owners are all about creating one of the most magnificent fishing getaways imaginable. I HIGHLY recommend this resort! Can’t wait to return in 2015!
